Congress on the same day, TikTok will be banned from most U.S.
government equipment.
This is the latest offensive launched by US lawmakers against Chinese social media applications.
The 1.7 trillion dollar package includes a request to the Biden government to ban the use of other applications developed by TikTok and its owner, ByteDance.
This requirement will apply to the executive branch, but does not appear to cover Congress.

It has become the second most popular application in the world.
But for a long time, both parties in the United States have been worried that China will use legal and regulatory forces to obtain American user data, or try to promote pro China narratives and the spread of false information.
Brooke Oberwitt, a spokesman for TikTok, said the ban was "a political gesture that does not help promote national security interests".
TikTok is developing a security and data privacy plan, which is part of the ongoing national security review by the Biden administration in the United States.
