According to the new forecast, TikTok is expected to become the third largest social network platform in the world by 2022

A new forecast says TikTok will become the world's third largest social network, after Facebook and Instagram.
In the first estimate of TikTok's global installation base, Insider Intelligence (formerly eMarketer), based on TikTok's monthly active users' annual growth rate of 59.8% in 2020 and 40.8% in 2021, predicts that it will reach 755 million in 2022.
Facebook, as of its latest financial report, reported 2.91 billion monthly active users after seeing a 6% year-on-year growth.
Recently, Instagram employees disclosed that their network has exceeded 2 billion monthly active users, higher than the 1 billion monthly user milestone reported in June 2018.
However, Insider Intelligence's prediction refers to its own prediction for 2022, which uses a slightly different calculation method.
The company has its own definition of monthly active users, which may be different from the definition of each company it analyzes.
For example, it only counts users who log in at least once a month during a calendar year, and attempts to exclude false accounts from their estimates.
According to the company's estimate, Facebook will reach 2.1 billion monthly users in 2022, followed by 1.28 billion users of Instagram.
TikTok will follow with 755 million monthly users, ahead of Snap and Twitter.
