According to TechCrunch, TikTok is one of the fastest growing social media platforms in the world.
Sensor Tower recently released the report "The First Quarter of 2022: Store Intelligence Data Summary", in which TikTok is the application with the highest download volume in the world in the first quarter of 2022.
In the first quarter of 2021, this application has exceeded 3.5 billion downloads, becoming the fifth application (and the only application not belonging to Meta) to achieve this milestone.
Since 2022, TikTok has been downloaded more than 175 million times.
TikTok has downloaded more than 10 million times in the past nine quarters, while YouTube has exceeded the same threshold for eight consecutive quarters.
According to the report, since WhatsApp has been downloaded 250 million times worldwide at the beginning of 2018, no application has been downloaded more than TikTok.
There are many things worth mentioning about TikTok's success and its development direction.
This social media application is dominated by its related trends, unique algorithms, and diverse communities for each niche theme.
Just recently, its updates included interactive plugins for ads in the feed, as well as a test of private dislike buttons for comments.
It also recently launched its own AR development platform, Effect House.
When researching the global download volume of iPhone and iPad, the order of the top five apps has remained unchanged in the past three quarters.
TikTok exceeded 70 million app store downloads in the first quarter of 2022, driven by an 11% quarterly growth in Asia.
Although it is banned in India, which has one of the largest application installation markets in the world, the application ranks third in Asia as a whole.
It ranks first in the App Store, but seventh in Google Play in Asia.
From the overall download volume of the United States, TikTok has been the number one application in every quarter since the first quarter of 2021.
The last application that beat TikTok was Zoom in the fourth quarter of 2020.
In addition, since the first quarter of 2021, TikTok and YouTube have been the top two apps in the U.S.
App Store every quarter.
TikTok has also become the largest application of Google Play for three consecutive quarters, with a year-on-year growth of 19%.
In the past four quarters, the same five applications have all occupied the top position in Europe.
TikTok and WhatsApp ranked in the top two, while Instagram ranked fourth, down one place from the previous quarter.
Even though WhatsApp has ranked first in European App Store applications in each of the past seven quarters, TikTok has also maintained its position as No.
1 in Google Play in the same period.
